Here’s how it works for Florida donors: you call or submit our online form, we confirm a pickup window that fits your schedule, and a local flatbed or hook-and-chain tow truck comes right to your home, workplace, or storage lot. Running or not, we accept the vehicle. You simply remove your plates, sign the Florida title, and leave the title and keys in the agreed spot with the car. Our local towing partner handles loading and paperwork pickup, usually within a few business days depending on your exact neighborhood and how busy the routes are.
How to schedule your free local pickup
1. Tell us about your vehicle and Florida location
Call us or complete the quick online form with your Florida address and basic vehicle details. Let us know if it runs, where it’s parked (driveway, street, apartment lot), and any access issues. We’ll contact you to confirm a pickup day and time window that fits your schedule. In busier areas like Miami-Dade, Orlando, and Jacksonville, we often have multiple route options; more rural areas may have fewer set days. We’ll give you an honest estimate for when a flatbed can reach your exact neighborhood or town.
3. Prepare the title, keys, and access for the truck
Before pickup, remove your Florida license plate, clear personal items, and sign your Florida title according to state requirements. We’ll explain exactly where to sign. On pickup day, leave the title and keys in the agreed secure spot in or on the vehicle and make sure the tow truck can reach it without being blocked in by other cars or closed gates.
4. We tow your car for free from your Florida address
A local towing partner arrives with a flatbed or hook-and-chain truck, loads your vehicle, and collects the title and keys. After your donated vehicle is sold, Palm Motor Legacy mails you a tax receipt. For most donors, you’ll receive documentation for at least a $500 tax deduction; if the sale exceeds $500, IRS Form 1098-C information will be included. Always consult your tax professional, but keep this receipt with your records to claim your charitable deduction.

Tight urban streets, garages, and condo parking in Florida cities
Tip: In dense areas like Downtown Miami, Brickell, South Beach, or downtown Orlando, large flatbeds may struggle with low garages or tight alleys. Tell us the exact parking setup, height limits, and any valet or condo rules so we can send the right truck or arrange a street-side meet point if needed.

Tip: Many Florida neighborhoods in places like Weston, Lakewood Ranch, Wellington, and The Villages require gate codes, guest lists, or HOA approvals. Pickup in metro areas is often within a few business days, while rural zones like the Big Bend or inland Glades may take a bit longer for routing. For Florida titles, you’ll sign as the seller and typically remove and keep or surrender your plates per Florida DMV guidance.
